We took a week long trip to Ireland in March 2007

We rented a car and drove a loop around the southern half

This is a bed and breakfast in Galway. It was a little hard to find since the road markings are very irregular
This is looking out the back. It's amazing what you can grow if it's always humid and doesn't freeze.
This is where we stayed in Dublin. This neighborhood looked like it could be in San Diego, except for the fact the sun doesn't shine and it rains alot
This is a picture from just north of Dublin
This is picture at Trinity University. We looked at the book of Kells.
This is a castle in Killkenny. I wonder if this is where South Park got the idea to keep killing Kenny.

Kill means Church in Irish so you see it frequently. We took a tour. Some guy in the United States inherited it in the 30's. His family finally just donated it to the city.

Yes there are internet connections in Ireland
Here we are looking serious at the Guinness factory tour
Amy gets a little charged up with her Pint
Kevin joins in as well.
Major drawback to driving. They drive on the left hand side of the road. See the sticker on the rental car to remind you.
We told the waitress at the Pub that we wanted a happy Norwegian picture.
Random street picture.
This is when we stayed at a Dairy farm near Blarney
This is at the Blarney Castle. Yes we did kiss the "Stone"
This is at the Killarney national park. The road was pretty curved and was only about 1 1/2 lanes wide.
This is on the Southwest Coast of Ireland.
We toured a whiskey plant. You got to drink Whiskey at the end.
This is a castle we stayed at. That night we were the only ones there. It would have been spooky if I had not been so sleepy and fell right to sleep.
This is Kevin with an Irish Wolfhound
This is the Bunratty Castle. We had a dinner similar to Medieval Times in Dallas. It was a little corney but if you relaxed it could be fun.
My mother's family name is Kells, so we of course had to stop and get a picture. The sun was pretty strong in our eyes.

We had a good time. The people there were pretty friendly and crime was low. It's not the most exciting place to go, but it's fun to see another part of the world.
